How to buy BTC?
First, distinguish between purchasing Bitcoin spot and trading contracts, and then understand the basic steps of accounts, placing orders and custody of assets.
1. Confirm product and service availability
If the purpose is to hold Bitcoin, you should first understand the BTC spot. Perpetual contracts are derivative positions, not buying BTC that can be withdrawn directly. Different platforms have different available services, identity requirements and payment methods in different regions. Please verify on the official platform page and do not bypass regional restrictions.
2. Check account and payment method
Learn about account opening and identity verification requirements through the platform’s official channels, and enable two-factor verification. Check the payment currency, payment fee and payee; do not give your account password, verification code, private key or mnemonic phrase to strangers. The available payment methods are subject to the actual support of the platform in your region.
3. Understand market orders and limit orders
Market orders are executed based on the available liquidity at the time, and the final average price may be different from the latest price seen; limit orders specify price conditions, but may not be executed. Check the BTC trading pair, purchase quantity, estimated amount and handling fee before placing an order. What is displayed on this site is the contract price. When purchasing spot, you should refer to the spot order confirmation page.
4. Understand fees and asset custody
Costs may include transaction fees, payment fees, spreads and withdrawal network fees. Platform hosting and self-keeping of wallets each have risks; you should check the currency, network, address and platform prompts one by one before withdrawing coins. BTC can be held divisibly, and there is no need to buy a whole coin at once.
